Hanging lift lid 19th century salt box in a rare orange/red painted color with dovetailed and nailed case and an old repair at the hanging hole. Box does show salt wear to paint and the nails on lower half, but is in very solid condition. An early salt box that was used and has survived.   (additional photo below)
